George F. Bailey Detention Facility is located at 446 Alta Road, Suite 5300, San Diego, CA 92158 and is operated by the Sheriff’s Department.
George F. Bailey Detention Facility houses both pre-trial and sentenced adult male and female inmates, as well as a small number of juvenile offenders. The physical plant consists of two main detention facilities; a maximum security facility which opened in 1987, and a medium security facility which opened in 1995. There is also a minimum security work furlough facility adjacent to the medium security facility. The three facilities are collectively known as “The George” and have a combined capacity of approximately 2,100 inmates.
George F. Bailey Detention Facility is accredited by the American Correctional Association.
